A darkness dawned
On  earth a blight,
That roams the streets
In darkest night.

It’s razor claws
It’s putrid stench,
It’s matted fur
It reeks of death.

With but a sound
A life snuffed out,
So quickly they fall
With barely a shout.

It drags it’s victims
Into it’s lair,
Bereft of life
Exuding despair.

It grinds the bones
Abandons it’s vigil
On the victim
It carves a sigil.

It’s eyes glow red
It’s claws extend,
Blood will flow from
The flesh it has will rend.

It finishes
Unsatisfied,
It drools upon
The man who would die.

It looks around,
And see’s it’s alone,
But senses the being
Exploring it’s home.

Eyes searching the dark
Searching the gloom,
Sees a being bent over
The lifeless groom.

The beast lunges forward
Tearing to shreds,
The witless bride
Her wounds flow red.

Forever, forever
The creature will remain,
Hidden in darkness
Inside it’s domain.
